My Husband Rocks!

my husband rocks

Ken makes me laugh. One night this week he decided to make a bobsled run down the stairs in a cardboard box; the box fell apart on the way down, and Kathryn and I laughed so hard we nearly fell down the stairs ourselves! (No one was harmed in the making of that laughter, by the way.)

Ken has a multitude of wonderful qualities, but I think it all boils down to the fact that he has a generous helping of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) That cardboard bobsled run? A prime example of joy.

The biggest and best of them all is love. Ken has allowed God's love to just flow right through him, and has already given Anne (the 14-year-old we will soon adopt) a place in his heart. Knowing that not everyone will understand why we've chosen to do this, Ken said last week after we'd met her that he already thinks of her as our daughter. That's the kind of big-hearted man my husband is. I think that encompasses goodness and kindness and faithfulness as well.

That, dear friends, is why my husband rocks!
