By today's standards, our family is rather boring: we spend a whole lot of evenings at home; we very rarely watch television or movies; and we don't own a wii or any sort of video games. But sometimes, we have a whole lot of fun around here! We all love our family game nights, when we play games like Cranium, BananaGrams, SkipBo, and Sorry. We're often entertained by our crazy WonderDog. And sometimes we have silly evenings with friends. I think, in our modern society--computers and televisions and cell phones and ipods--we often miss opportunities for good old fashioned fun.
In preparing for our friend Jenifer's 40th birthday bash, Lindsey and her friend Emilie (Jenifer's daughter) decided to learn and perform Hannah Montana's Hoedown Throwdown as a surprise at the party. So one evening last week, Emilie and her sister (also named Lindsey!) came over and we had ourselves a little dance party in the living room. I laughed so hard about Ken doing a Hannah Montana dance with the girls! He's such a good sport, and the girls just loved that he did the dance with them.

Emilie (and her family!) knew that Lindsey was leaving behind so many friends when she moved in with us, so they made up their minds to love Lindsey even before they met her. That's a wonderful & obedient thing to do, but the even bigger God thing is how very quickly Emilie and Lindsey instantly bonded and became such great pals! They are very similar in personality, and the energy in the room when they are together is amazing!
I am absolutely convinced that the Lord is going to use these girls for BIG things!
