JBQ and Honor Band!

Our day started with attending Kathryn's last Junior Bible Quiz league meet of the season, and she did great! She was very excited about receiving her bronze medal for learning 280 of the questions, and also got her first "quiz out" today, which is a pretty big deal. A quiz out means she earned the maximum amount of questions for an individual in any one round of quizzing. So, hurray for Kathryn! We also got to meet a couple of her friends from her Daddy's church, and her good friend Angelica said I was a "very pretty lady." Don't ya just love kids? ♥

BrandonThis evening we attended Brandon's Honor Band concert. One-hundred twenty students came to Reinhardt College from schools all around north Georgia, had an intensive weekend music clinic at the college, and then performed a concert tonight of music they'd never seen til yesterday... and it was WONDERFUL! I found myself wondering why I ever gave up playing the flute. Brandon said this was by far the best concert band he'd ever been a part of, and he was really impressed with the oboe player who made the oboe sound beautiful. (An oboe played less-than-fabulously sounds much like a cat being tortured.) Brandon's snare drum solo was really tricky, but sounded great.

The campus and performing arts center at Reinhardt are gorgeous, and Brandon has already been accepted there and offered a partial scholarship. His audition for the music program is in two weeks, and he's excited/nervous about it. He's also received an acceptance letter from another local university, and is still waiting for one more. We're so proud of him!
