We now interrupt our regularly scheduled programming for a little creativity break...
Sometimes, you just need a change of pace. That was the case today, as we were trying to get into the swing of things & work out the kinks in our new school year. For the sake of everybody's sanity (including mine!), the girls needed a little break from challenging school work, so we broke out the paints, with no specific plan.
Lindsey painted a little wooden crate we use to organize some of her small school stuff on our schoolroom shelves. Kathryn painted a random picture.
And then they painted themselves a bit... See Lindsey's chin & nose?
And Kathryn's nose & cheeks? She told me it's the latest style. She cracks me up! 
Just another fun homeschool moment. I love my life.
