Adoption Update

Unfortunately, there is not much to update since last time. Our home study was submitted to the caseworker for the brother/sister I've talked about, and although it took a while for her to get a chance to review it, she really liked us once she did look at our file. She still wants to try to place them soon, but it probably won't be as soon as we were thinking. Though we meet all the requirements they are looking for in an adoptive family for the kids, her supervisor told her she has to show certain "recruitment efforts" in order to be certain that she has the right home placement for the kids. This means she will have to send information to the regional coordinators and look for any new families who may be interested. On the one hand, I understand that they need to be sure to have the best match for the kids, but on the other hand, since we meet all the requirements, it seems silly to keep looking. It would make more sense if we only met some of the requirements and they had to keep us as a sort of "Plan B" but that's not the case. We are not likely to hear anything more 'til a decision is made, but she really wants a decision by the end of this month so she can start transitioning the kids to their new home before their court date (to terminate parental rights) in early June.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
This is one of those situations where all I just have to rely on the fact that the Lord really is in control, and He has good plans for these children, and for us. We don't know yet if those plans intersect, but He does.
